homeschooling (with Seton)

I just wanted tell you a little bit about homeschooling. OK- if you want to choose the ST. Elizabeth Ann Seton program you better be prepared for your kids in it to be absolutely overwhelmed and have them fall behind because he/she doesn't want to do the work. The second most important thing to know is that the program gives you quarter tests that come up every eight weeks. These tests are on every subject, which in sixth grade there are ten subjects a day. In some parts there are some pretty weird stuff- like having to look up on the internet about different people. Some of the lesson plans will say "for enrichment" or "optional" if you already know about the info, you wouldn't have to do it. After you get a book report complete (ya you get book reports every quarter) or any kind of paper that needs to be turned in, it feels like you just won a $100,000,000,000,000 lottery. After you finish your homework for the summer, you are basically in the most relaxing state of mind you can ever imagine to be in-in your entire life. At least that's how I imagine I will feel when I am finally done.

  1. Hi Dane, it's Rees and John!
Are you guys coming out here on Sunday for the walk and dessert party? Our e-mail is wacky and we weren't sure if your mom responded or not. Also, we like your blog. Wish my dad would let us do one, too. See ya. R&J

  2. Dane, you are such a good writer. You also have a good, subtle sense of humor when you write. Keep up the good work! By the way, I really like Tim Hawkins stuff, too....

  3. awe good luck getting through the rest of your school. Hang in there a little bit longer. I definitely know that relaxed state of mind you speak of. It's most definitely worth it in the end. :) It feels really good when all your hard work pays off. Take care, and thanks for sharing some of your fav tunes.
