seton

I just wanted to say that a few words about the homeschool program that I am in. It might just be that I was new to it last year but I really struggled and I just hated it. Now I stay focesed and get it all done in a timely manner and have no problems whatsoever. I even sometimes get two days worth of work done and get the day after off. I kind of am starting to like it. Its a program I recomend for your kids if you homeschool.

peace, love, and jellyfish.

Animals on the Reservation

Since I have moved from Alaska to Montana I have already had some crazy adventures on the Crow Indian Reservation. I will share them with you and hope that they are exciting for you as well. The first thing I was creeped out about was that there are rattle snakes in Montana. I absolutely hate those things! A week after I arrived, Caleb went to take out the trash. When he arrived at the can he heard and saw a rattle snake. He ran inside trembling in fear. Dad went outside with a metal shovel to look for the darn thing. When he found it, the thing hissed very loudly and everyone but Dad ran inside screaming. Dad saw it, slammed his shovel on it like twenty times and killed it. Later, my two uncles killed two more rattlers. Once the rattlers subsided, a nice lady named Mrs. Denalene gave our family two kittens; a black one and an orange one. We named the orange one Sistine and the other one Percy Jackson (from the books). They were going to be outside cats. Once we had them for a month an owl began looming around our farm. One night I saw Percy venture off in the night. The next mourning Percy didn't come for breakfast or dinner. I didn't see her all day or the next day. We decided that the owl had killed her, poor Percy. The events never end. One day Mom said that we could go swimming at the swimming hole. We where walking down the driveway when my Grandmother yelled that a bear was in the yard. Sure enough, there was. We walked to the door and found our trash all over the yard. We picked it up while keeping a watch on the bear. Then we ran inside and called the game warden. We have seen the bear on and off in our yard. The game warden came out and set up a live bear trap. We haven't caught it yet but we are keeping watch for it. Montana is full of surprises and is a great place to visit.

Hello readers,

The other day I found out that one of my friends has a cat. The cat's name is... Well first I want to ask you a question. Do you know the Greek Olympians? If so, well Daniel told me his cat's name is Zeus. I asked if his dogs name was Hera(the queen of the gods) but he said it was Shesha.

homeschooling (with Seton)

I just wanted tell you a little bit about homeschooling. OK- if you want to choose the ST. Elizabeth Ann Seton program you better be prepared for your kids in it to be absolutely overwhelmed and have them fall behind because he/she doesn't want to do the work. The second most important thing to know is that the program gives you quarter tests that come up every eight weeks. These tests are on every subject, which in sixth grade there are ten subjects a day. In some parts there are some pretty weird stuff- like having to look up on the internet about different people. Some of the lesson plans will say "for enrichment" or "optional" if you already know about the info, you wouldn't have to do it. After you get a book report complete (ya you get book reports every quarter) or any kind of paper that needs to be turned in, it feels like you just won a $100,000,000,000,000 lottery. After you finish your homework for the summer, you are basically in the most relaxing state of mind you can ever imagine to be in-in your entire life. At least that's how I imagine I will feel when I am finally done.

the not so Major problem

Ok, so if you read my post about the Major problem, I would like to make an update on that.

I went to several practices, the secondary coach (Mike) was a big meanie, he made me run a triangle!!! Do you even know what a triangle is!!? Well I'll tell you what it is!! Its when you run from home base to the first corner of the entire field, then you run to the next corner, then you run back to home. I will tell you this - IT STUNK!! Worse then anything in the entire universe, I felt total shame after the practice. After practice was over, I rode my bike home and told mom and dad that I wanted to quit. Mom and Dad said they supported my decision. I e-mailed the couch (Dave) that I quit and he sent an e-mail saying ok, sorry if it wasn't what you wanted. The next day the couch of the minors team I was on last season came to my house and said that he wanted me to be in Majors and that I am talented and stuff. After 30 min. he left. I thought about what he said, I decided to give Majors another try. I found out that Noah, my best friend, is going to be on the same Majors team as I am. So there you have it, the not so major problem.

Major problem

You'll never guess what happend to me?

OK, so I was all exited to be put on the same Minor baseball team this season. But the person in charge of placeing kids on the teams and the League said I was put in Majors because I was too big for Minors. I am age eligible for Minors, but due to my size, the president of the "Achorage West Little League" was affaid that little seven or eight year olds would get seriously injured. This bumms me out because all my friends are on the Minors. Even Noah, my best friend, was on the Minors team I would have been on. But guess what? He is 11 years old too. But the crazy thing is- he is a whole head and a half taller then me. He is now in Majors too, but I don't think he is on the same team as I am. so thats the Major problem.

The cut finger

So these are pics about Caleb's cut finger. The white stuff you see below his cut is liquefied skin, that's when water vapor is trapped within the skin and changes its color and makes it wrinkled, odd huh.

On the GO

Today, my family and I rode our bikes to this home school play date. Its basically when a bunch of home schooled kids go to this church and do whatever kind of game you want to play. Today was presentation day, that's when you bring some thing you want to present to a bunch of other kids. I presented my piano skills, I played a part in the song composed by Lobwig Van Beethoven called "Fur Elise" and if I do say so myself I was pretty darn GOOD. The best part of this day was we got the chance to eat Subway for dinner. The reason being, is because our friend, Miss Joelle, got my family and me some gift cards for Subway (as a welcome to Carmen and Josie.) Now we are putting them to good use.

The Caleb Incident

This just in... my brother, Caleb, cut himself on a sharp rock. He runs in the house freaking out, and dripping blood on the floor. When he went to run water over it, the water was still hot from when mom was washing dishes and it burned him. I asked him for a picture of it, but mom was already putting a band aid on it, so it was too late. Besides, he was yelling "NO!!!" the whole time.

A bad arm day

When I was making eggs and toast. I dropped  the cover of the pan I used, and the entire pan fell to the ground with four eggs in it. As it dropped, the edge of the pan burned my arm pretty bad. My Dad had to put this burn cream, and a gauze pad on it.

The merit system

My mom started this merit system in November.  It is this chart of chores and attitude list. If you forgot to do the chores before nine o clock then you lost that point.  There are a set of levels Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Blackout.  Each level has a specific amount of points.  Platinum is when you haven't lost any points, Gold is when you lose 1-3, Silver is when you lose 4-7, Bronze is when you lose 8-11, and Blackout is when you lose 12-16.  Platinum, you are allowed to watch one hour of movies or computer and go to friends house or go to the park. Gold, you are allowed to watch one hour too. Its basically the same as Platinum, but you haven't lost any points at all.  Silver,  you can watch one half hour of TV or computer, and go to the park with a parent. Bronze, you can't watch movies or computer, you can't have cereal,  you have to eat plain oatmeal with two teaspoons of sugar. Blackout, you can't sit on the couch, you have to sit on a hard chair and you eat plain food - no sugar added or included.  You also can't go outside and you can't play inside either.

The Intoduction

Today I would like to tell you about my family of nine. My Dad is a licensed Architect, and trying to get a license for real estate too. My mom is the most hard working mom I know. She is a stay at home mom, but she use to be a nurse. I am the oldest of us seven kids and if I do say so myself, I am probably the second most popular (the first is of course mom). Caleb is next. He is my half-brother and the second most temperamental. Carmen is the third and is the oldest girl. She is one of those people who if she has any kind of responsibility she acts like a football coach. Billy Jo (Josie) is the one who is hyper and loud and the fourth oldest. She also follows me around almost all the time. My sister Mattea is the most calm and she is also 100% Korean. Mattea was the oldest girl until Carmen and Josie came into our life. Ciara, number six, is the most loud and temperamental, but in between times she is pretty cute. And finally, Lainey is the youngest of the seven and also the cutest and funniest; she likes to call me Daner.
